A month or so ago, my buddies Will and Travis and I traveled up to Flagstaff to film a series of videos for our church. You can see the first behind the scenes blog HERE. Often times, I will bring several different cameras on trips to get a variety of looks and films, but I decided pretty early on that I would only bring my 5D Mark II to document, and my trusted Minolta XE-5(my mother-in-laws camera she used in her film class) for personal art. I love that Minolta XE-5 and we work so well together. It captures the world the way I see it and we make beautiful photographs together. It has a 50mm f/1.7 lens on it and is fully manual. I have to slow way down to get the shots but the trade off is well thought out composition and beautiful light.
